Pay attention to when we are resisting any situation or incident. It could be because we are holding tightly to our expectations and don’t want to let go of what we want because we don’t – or can’t yet – see the beauty in the current moment. It’s one or the other, and they are the same thing.
Sit (or stand) still. Pause and notice our resistance. Notice what we are
seeing, thinking, feeling.
Try to open our heart and mind, even if just a little for a few moments. Work on being less closed off, and more open to what’s happening NOW. Consider how it can be our teacher. Seek to open up to what is in front of us at this moment.
With practice daily, we can learn to let go our expectations and ideals, which cause us difficulty, and open up to the perfection of the messiness of this moment. And as w practice, we’ll get better at dealing with chaos. We’ll be a master at getting good with chaos.
