Alzheimer’s Talks: Coping with Dementia and Covid 19

April 28, 2020 @ 5:00 pm

Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s is extremely stressful at any time. During the COVID-19 pandemic, those feelings of stress and anxiety can be exponentially greater.

On our next Alzheimer’s Talk—on Tuesday, April 28, 5pm Eastern—host Meryl Comer will share findings from a recent survey of our A-LIST community of Alzheimer’s caregivers and those at increased Alzheimer’s risk. We asked how they are coping during the COVID-19 pandemic and about their concerns during this time.

Joining Meryl will be two experts to discuss the survey results and offer suggestions for those who have a loved one with Alzheimer’s, on coping during this very difficult time. Our guests include Dr. Dale Atkins, an author and psychologist who focuses on family relationships, aging well, and maintaining balance in life. She is a regular guest on NBC’s Today Show. Also joining us is Dr. Barry Jacobs, an author and psychologist who has a passion for support for family caregivers. He writes a weekly blog on the topic for AARP.
